Candlelight Advent Walk Heralds the Season

(November 30, 2009) The Candlelight Advent Walk ushers in the Christmas season Wednesday evening, December 2 at 6:30 p.m. Worshippers can hear the message of Advent in beautifully decorated churches then process by candlelight through the historic downtown area.

The service begins at Quinn Chapel AME Church at 216 Church Street, north of the
square. Worshippers will then walk to First Presbyterian Church (South Market Street), First United Methodist (South Poplar Street) and Grace Episcopal (South Poplar Street).

A reception will be held at the final stop, First Christian Church (South Poplar).
A van is available, according to Dr. Rob Martin of First United Methodist Church. Please call 731-642-1721.

The annual event is sponsored by participating churches and the Downtown Paris
Association.
